    Island Girl Power Mentor

    The Island Girl Power Clubhouses in Dededo and Malesso could use the help of high school girls to be teachers and mentors to the clubhouse members, ages 7 to 14.  Island Girl Power is a local prevention program focusing on offering positive activities and role models to young girls and their families. Come and be part of the IGP experience!

    Thrift Store Volunteers

    One person's trash is another person's treasure! This is the fun of a thrift store and you can be a part of it. Learn the value or recycling and reducing trash that is sent to the landfill. There is so much to do here, and so much to learn!

    Basketball Clinic in the Park

    A basketball court is located in formerly abandoned parks that Island Girl Power has adopted. You can serve your community by teaching younger children the skills and rules of the game. At the same time, you are making use of this park in a positive way to promote a healthy lifestyle.

    Adopt A Wall - Park Beautification

    Island Girl Power in Dededo has adopted nearby neighborhood parks in Kaiser Dededo to restore and maintain. There are large walls that are available for painting of murals. This project is an opportunity for students to plan a mural, to raise funds for it, and to paint it. Doing this will help provide the neighborhood with a positive environment in which to play and relax.

    Friends of the Park - Kaiser

    To provide families with a safe place to play and relax, Island Girl Power has adopted neighborhood parks in the Kaiser Dededo area, but needs help maintaining these parks.

    What can be done about Invasive Species?

    Learn about the invasive species problems affecting Guam and come up with an action plan of what you can do to help.

    Rain Gardens

    Build your own rain garden and help our environment too! As excess rain water washes over streets, parking lots and lawns, it can pick up and  carry many items and pollutants itno our rivers and oceans, leading to water pollution and unhealthy coral reefs. Rain gardens are important because they increase the amount of rain water that recharges to ground water, reducing flooding and erosion problems.

    Get Out the Vote

    Voter turnout is not where it should be. Help to get more people to the polls by planning and implementing a Get Out the Vote campaign. Share information about the importance of voting and how to register.

    Hal's Angels Field Beautification

    If you are a supporter of Hal's Angels Football, then you have an opportunity for service learning. The football field needs constant maintenance!
